Community Liaison – Intern

Company: Bridgeview Housing

Location: Vancouver, WA

Wage: $18.84 /hr.

# of Positions: 1

Hours: Part-time Internship    

Summary:  Links residents to supportive and community engagement services to facilitate family stability, engagement, and self-reliance at assigned VHA properties.

Essential Functions:

  • Provides intake and referral services to residents requesting assistance or referred by property management. Promotes services to ensure robust program participation.
  • Works one-on-one with residents to promote independence and/or stability. May focus on youth, families, and/or seniors depending on assigned property demographics.
  • Facilitates connections to community agencies, services, and/or activities that promote self-reliance and community engagement.
  • Advises, mentors, and trains clients, individually or in a classroom setting, on subjects that improve self-reliance and/or successful tenancy. May include budgeting, parenting, education, health/wellness, landlord/tenant concerns, and other subjects.
  • Assists residents requesting assistance or referred by Property Management to mitigate challenges impacting successful tenancy.  Educates residents on service availability, resident rights, etc. Provides advocacy as appropriate.
  • Develops and administers programming designed to meet the needs of assigned properties and residents. May include health/wellness programming, youth and/or adult educational programming, or other programming as assigned.
  • May supervise or direct Community Health Advocates to facilitate activities and programming to improve community health and engagement.
  • In conjunction with supervisor and Property Manager, establishes goals and milestones for assigned properties to facilitate a supporting, engaged environment for residents.
  • Consistently complies with position and department safety and attendance standards.
  • Establishes and maintains positive, productive relationships with employees, residents, vendors, and other work-related contacts.

 

Program Assistant – Intern

Company: Bridgeview Housing

Location: Vancouver, WA

Wage: $17.25/hr.

Hours: Part-time Internship    

Summary:  Assists Executive Director and leadership team to complete documentation, applications, data entry, and program processes/activities.

Essential Functions:

  • Complies with best practices, policies, procedures and systems to provide administrative support to program(s) related to: data collection, tracking, and reporting related to Bridgeview contracts and grants compliance.
  • Provides thorough and complete documentation and communication on all assigned program activities and applications; prepares reports as requested.
  • Reviews documentation for compliance and accuracy.
  • Adheres to requirements and advises management on needed actions.
  • Provides high-level confidential administrative support to the leadership team; including, but not limited to: clerical, administrative, and program-based supports.
  • Serves as a liaison to residents, participating landlords/ property management, and/or contractual partners.
  • Responds independently and courteously to inquiries and complaints utilizing a trauma informed approach. Provides responses to routine questions and inquiries.
  • Attends regularly occurring staff meetings.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications.
  • Inputs client and programmatic data to appropriate database.
  • Provides back up support to Executive Assistant.
  • Consistently complies with position and department safety and attendance standards.
  • Establishes and maintains positive, productive relationships with Bridgeview Resource Center employees, partners, visitors and other work-related contacts.
