We never know the state someone is when they come into our centers—we just know that they’ve put themselves in a vulnerable position. Asking for help is never easy, but sometimes, it makes all the difference.
This customer recently reached out to our office to share their journey—from initial conversations with an Employment Specialist, all the way to training, support, and resume help!
I am writing this letter in recognition and gratefulness for the people and resources provided to me by WorkSource. The first time I walked into this office, I was feeling very defeated and hopeless. I was working a job that did not provide for the needs of my family, and I was struggling emotionally and financially.
The first time I met with Mikayla Ortiz, it sparked hope for my future. She asked me what my needs were and about my hopes and dreams and then encouraged me to dig deep inside of myself to figure out what I wanted and what it would take to get there.
I have been working with Mikayla for the last four or five months, and my life has changed so dramatically. I am now getting ready to start my first job as a Class A CDL driver. She helped me find the resources to get through school, build a résumé and apply to this position.
Adam Mahmoud was also very instrumental in my success. He helped me refine my résumé and offered mock interviews to help me know how to land my dream job. I could not have reached the level of success in my life without their help. I am eternally grateful for everything they have done to assist me in building a beautiful life for me and my family.
I tell everyone I know about WorkSource and the amazing things that they have done to help me in my personal and professional life. I continue to grow and learn and improve my life emotionally, physically, mentally, and financially because of their inspiration! If you are looking for hope and willing to work hard, you will find it in the staff and resources at WorkSource!
