Do you have experience in customer or team service? Could you see yourself in the Healthcare industry? Clark College has a new evening Medical Assistant (MA) program that is starting in early April. This six-quarter course includes an externship where you will gain valuable experience on the job with employers waiting to hire those who pass the course and the State MA exam.

Who shines in healthcare?  Employers in the healthcare industry look for problem solvers who don’t take constructive criticism personally because they know it’s about outcomes, not egos. Employees who are quick-thinkers and who are also empathetic and respectful are typically quite successful in healthcare roles.  You can learn more about the role of an MA here. This career pathway is in high demand in our region, due to the increase of new clinics and expanding health systems (like The Vancouver Clinic, Kaiser, PeaceHealth and Legacy Health) and attrition through retirements and career changers. Medical assistants earn between $18.00 and $25.00 per hour + excellent benefits!

You will find information about the MA program, how to enroll and funding options here. View the Clark College Steps to Enrollment here.
